Young Women's Refuge
In March 2006, the refuge opened for young women at risk or pregnant women who, through becoming pregnant, lose their economic support or housing.
The refuge has space for several girls, and with its caring and Christian atmosphere, it gives women at risk a place of safety. There is a secure family atmosphere within the refuge, with times of sharing and encouragement.
The women are also obliged to receive counselling within the counselling centre, and to work a couple of hours a day in the cafe as volunteers.
If they give birth while living in the refuge, they can take advantage of the services of the doctors,
the physiotherapist, the support groups and the day-care centre.
Though they are not charged for their stay at the refuge, they are encouraged to find part-time work. They can generate income for themselves, for example, through making and selling yogurt.
The girls don't have to be Christians to be admitted, but they do need to submit to the Christian ethos and requirements of the refuge.
